Dance with Passion have the following children's classes and through the day DWP teachers are available for private tuition.

All Dance with Passion’s classes are taken by our team of professional dance teachers all of whom have reached the top in their chosen field.  These include Anne Freeman (4 times British Ballroom dance champion), Debbie Johnson (6 times British formation champion), Marcquelle Ward (former World street dance champion) and school principles Jason and Shemayne Parkinson, who have won many titles in Latin/Ballroom and formation over the years as dancers and trainers. 

We have teachers registered with the UKA and IDTA dance associations.  Our main aim is to make all the classes lots of FUN while you learn.  Through the day Dance with Passion teachers are available for private tuition.

DWP also hold week long Dance and Performing Arts Camps at the Dance with Passion Dance Studio in Preston.  There are workshops in Ballroom, Latin, Cheerleading, Street dance, Ballet, Tap, Funky Jazz and singing.

Every Tuesday evening we have our children’s cheerleading classes.  We have teams and solos classes for under 7s, under 9s, under 12s and under 16s.  Learn the moves and grooves of the latest dance craze from the USA.  The children will learn routines using music from hit films like ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Hairspray’ and lots of modern pop music.  They will also get the chance to compete if they wish.  We also have classes for our latest Disco/Street Dance teams.

7.30pm - 10.30pm Practice Night

Tuesday night is Practice Night.  Come on down to the area’s largest and most modern ballroom and practice all your steps to great music in our two dance studios.  Tuesday night is not just for DWP Regulars, and is open to all.  So come on down and improve your dancing.  As the saying goes ‘Practice makes perfect’. 

WEDNESDAY

5.00pm - 6.30pm Latin American Formation Drilling Session (Under 12s and 16s)

THURSDAY – Zumba with Joanne White from 5th August 2010

7.00pm Zumba

Come on down and try Zumba, the fun energetic dance craze, with top dancer and teacher Joanne White.    Zumba classes are every Thursday at 7pm from 5th August 2010.

SATURDAY – Children’s classes in Ballroom, Latin, Disco and Formation

DANCE ZONE - Learn to dance, meet new friends, take medal examinations and enjoy yourself.

If you are over 4 and under 16 DWP is the place to be on Saturdays.  We have children’s classes in Ballroom, Latin, Hip Hop, Disco, Salsa and formation for all ages and all levels.  Learn to dance like the stars from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘High School Musical’ and all your favourite Pop stars.  All children’s classes taught by former British Champions.

DWP Latin American Formation Teams - British and ‘Open to the World’ Champions

The Dance with Passion Latin American Formation teams compete at the very highest level.  Every year since they first competed they have won at least one title, including the prestigious ‘Open to the World’ Championship (the highest achievable title), the Formation Teachers Association (FTA) Championship and the Dance and Listen Awards Championship.  The DWP Juvenile 4 couple team have won four Championships in the past two years.  No other formation team in the country has such a successful record.  

The DWP Latin American formation teams regularly give performances all over the country, including demonstrating formation dancing on Anton Du Beck and Erin Boag’s Ballroom High documentary on Sky1 television filmed at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, and taking part in Britain’s Got Talent.  Photographs from the championships and events.

Schools and Education 

Jason is an experienced professional dancer and is a fully qualified dance teacher registered with the UK Alliance of Professional Dance Teachers.  He has taught an extensive range of dance styles to children and adults.  He is particularly successful in motivating boys of all ages to enjoy and succeed in dance.

Jason has been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and has full insurance with the UK Alliance of Professional Dance Teachers.

What are the costs?

The current rate for a one-day workshop (5 hours) in school is £250; a half-day (3 hours) is £150.  However, costs will vary according to the tailored package your school agrees with Jason.
